Hello Soccer Families!
Both Cranbrook and Kimberley Soccer Associations have been busy these past few months. We have some soccer news to share with you!
Kootenay East Youth Soccer (KEYS)
Cranbrook Youth Soccer Association and Kimberley Youth Soccer Association have joined together to create Kootenay East Youth Soccer (KEYS), a combined soccer club. KEYS is the result of a committed effort to improve youth soccer within the east Kootenay region. KEYS is local member of BC Soccer Association on behalf of Cranbrook and Kimberley and may expand to include other east Kootenay communities. KEYS will manage and administer Rep Soccer Teams within each association. Some of KEYS main goals are to increase overall player numbers; to combine volunteer joint ventures and to ultimately increase the calibre of youth soccer within the east Kootenay region. KEYS has recently elected a board with representation from Kimberley and Cranbrook.
The vision of structure includes KEYS board (representation from both Kimberley and Cranbrook) with many small working sub-committees reporting to the board. Sub-committees would include registration, tournaments, equipment and fields, coaching support and recruitment, ref co-coordinator - support and recruitment player recruitment, fundraising, rep and development programs, house program, risk management and discipline.
